Surat: Katargam police booked a Varachha resident for allegedly dishonest folks by means of promising homes in Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojna.
The accused Bhupat Lumbhani is accused of Anil Parmar, a Mumbai resident and a few others of Rs 6.50 lakh.
Parmar had paid him Rs 70,000 to get a house in the low-income workforce (LIG) executive housing scheme. Parmar runs a safety service and was once making plans to come back and live in the city. Like Parmar, many different applicants, who wanted a house in the scheme, had paid money starting from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2.50 lakh to Lumbhani.
Police have started investigation and search is on to nab him. Police are investigating if Lumbhani was once running the racket with some other pals. Police are also checking if the accused had hyperlinks with some officials in the concerned executive department.
