VNSGU gets new synthetic track, swimming pool

Surat: Sports amenities advanced at the cost of Rs 12 crore had been devoted to scholars of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VSNGU) on Thursday by leader minister Vijay Rupani at the college campus right here. The challenge was once collectively funded by Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG) that contributed Rs10 crore.
VNSGU got a brand new 400-metre synthetic observe, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool and a man-made hockey box. With this the VNSGU turns into 2nd college in state to have an artificial athletics observe after Gujarat University.

“Till now scholars had been practicing on mud observe at the identical spot and now with synthetic observe they got higher amenities now. Athletes can now reinforce their efficiency by practicing on the new observe,” said a VNSGU respectable.


VNSGU is planning to increase temperature keep watch over device for warm water in the swimming pool. So some distance scholars were practicing at swimming pools of alternative organisations.


The artificial hockey box is said to be the first International Hockey Federation approved hockey floor in the region, said another VNSGU respectable.


“Earlier our hockey crew used to practice in Valsad and majority of the scholars are from around Valsad. Now, they may be able to practice on the college floor and we will grasp tournaments right here too,” he added.
