GREATER NOIDA: A 35-year-old lady died after a crane allegedly hit the bicycle she used to be on along with her husband, who survived the accident. The incident happened around nine.30am when the couple were going in opposition to Surajpur Site V.
Naurangi Devi and her husband were at the bicycle when the crane hit them from behind. Brideshraj controlled to jump while Naurangi used to be run over. The motive force of the crane (UP16ET7664) fled the spot after the accident. An FIR has been lodged towards the unknown motive force below IPC section 304 (culpable murder no longer amounting to murder).
The police have additionally detained the lady’s brother, Shani, for breach of peace after he and some of his pals arrived at the police station and protested demanding that the motive force be booked below Section 302 (murder).
“He said he would set fire to the police station. We have detained him below CrPC section 151 (preventive arrest),” said Greater Noida SHO Sudeep Upadhyaya.
