Ytl cops seize Rs11L from vehicle, 2 nabbed

Yavatmal: In probably first cash haul in the region after the declaration of Lok Sabha polls, Yavatmal police have seized just about Rs11 lakh from a vehicle coming from Chandrapur and detained two carriers at the side of the vehicle on Saturday evening.
According to resources, a flying squad was checking automobiles at the Chandrapur-Yavatmal district border at Abhay diversion on below Shirpur police station when it discovered cash Rs10.8 lakh from a vehicle having registration number MH 34/BF-8022. As the two occupants may no longer give ample replies, the police officers detained them and seized the money and vehicle.

The names of the money carriers are Ashish Widhate and Sachin Girsawale, each citizens of Korpana village of Chandrapur district.


“We have seized the money and the vehicle and right away knowledgeable the SDM of Wani thru election cellular of Bramanwade for additional action. The Wani SDM has sent his earnings body of workers to the website where they've carried out the seizure panchnama and the money has been deposited in the treasury,” superintendent of police M Rajkumar said.


The police have formed 22 flying squads as in keeping with the orders of the Election Commission to stay vigil on district borders. The source of revenue tax division’s nodal officer also has been knowledgeable about the cash seizure, he said.


“If the investigation establishes that the volume is supposed for election purposes, we shall resort an FIR in opposition to the duo,” the SP added.
