2 boys held for shooting TikTok video in Udupi

MANGALURU: Two youngsters have been briefly detained and booked for filming a Kiki challenge-type video the use of the TikTok cell application at Udupi railway station on Sunday. The boys have been let off with a caution on Monday.
The app, which is owned by means of Chinese corporate ByteDance, lets in customers to create short videos after which share them online. Voicing concern over “pornographic and inappropriate content material”, the Madras high courtroom had directed the Centre to ban the app.

According to railway police, the boys and their buddies have been shooting a dance video with Mangaluru-Goa intercity educate shifting in the background. “The incident came about around 10am on Sunday when a gaggle of beginner dancers arrived on the railway station after their performance in Udupi. As the educate began to move, the boys began to bounce on the platform and have been recording the act the use of TikTok app,” police added.

Railway Protection Force officers termed the act unhealthy. “They risked their lives to report a dance video like ‘Kiki challenge’, a dance challenge which had gone viral lately,” they added.

“We arrested them and registered a case as their performance violated the Railways Act, 1989,” they stated.


“According to the Act, anyone who creates nuisance, indulges in acts of indecency and dangers one’s lifestyles is punishable,” they added.


Duo made to pay positive


“The duo used to be produced before a neighborhood magistrate and let off with a caution on Monday. They have been asked to pay a positive of Rs 700 and strict directions have been issued asking them to delete the video and to not upload the similar,” RPF officers told TOI.
