Allahabad: Gas leakage in IFFCO plant, four labourers taken ill

ALLAHABAD: Four labourers operating at an Ammonia plant at the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) plant in Phulpur fell ill following a suspected fuel leak on Thursday. While one employee, named Suresh Yadav and local of Balia, was once referred to a non-public health facility in the city, three others have been treated locally at the health facility of IFFCO.

This is the second incident of fuel leakage from the plant inside of a year. Last year, in the month of May, nine workers had fainted following an alleged ammonia fuel leak at the insulation department of the plant and had to go through treatment.


According to IFFCO officials, the leakage happened all the way through a shutdown of the plant when paintings was once on in one of the two devices.


As the workers of an out of doors company hired for the duty have been enterprise restore paintings of a pipeline coming out of the ammonia garage tank, the valve ended up leaking the fuel at around 11.30am. The workers hired for the duty of opening the valve have been the first to get affected and shortly chaos prevailed in the pant as panicked workers tried to hurry out.

IFFCO PRO, Vishwajeet Srivastava mentioned, “The fuel leaked from the Ammonia plant which was once undergoing repairs paintings and only one labourer became seriously unwell who was once referred to a non-public health facility in Allahabad. The condition of relaxation three is stable.”
