Ambala: Main accused in police constable murder case arrested

AMBALA: The Ambala police on Sunday arrested Kamaljit, the primary accused in the murder of police constable Avtar Singh of Panjokhra Sahib village from close to his village space.


22-year-old Kamaljit along with 7-Eight other accomplices had bludgeoned constable Avtar Singh to death on Friday night out of doors Royal Restaurant in Baldev Nagar space of Ambala City.


Confirming the arrest, Baldev Nagar SHO inspector Subash Singh said, "The accused has been arrested in the evening from near his village and he would be presented before the court on Monday to take his remand. We have only arrested one accused Kamaljit who is the main perpetrator in this murder case and the recovery of the weapons used in the crime is yet to be made. The arrests of nearly 7-8 accomplices of Kamaljit are also pending. Our teams are out to catch the others."


As according to the ideas, Avtar was bludgeoned to death when he along with his relations Sukhdeep, Amandeep and brother-in-law Hardeep had come for dinner at Royal Restaurant on Friday.


On Saturday, the district police had registered a case of murder, rioting with deadly weapons in opposition to the accused Kamaljit and 7-Eight others.
