GAYA: A gaggle of Maoists shot dead a former cadre in Gaya suspecting him to be a police informer, police stated on Sunday.
The incident happened in Khaira village under the jurisdiction of Dumriya police station on Saturday night time when the man used to be snoozing at the rooftop of a relative's area, the police stated.
The deceased has been identified as Raghu Ravindra alias Sunil Singh Bhokta, superintendent of police (SP) of Gaya, Sushil Kumar, stated.
Bhokta used to be earlier associated with the CPI (Maoist), the SP stated.
The CPI (Maoist) cadres, in a leaflet left behind at the spot, charged Bhokta of being a police informer, he stated.
Bhokta had left the CPI(Maoist) around three years in the past and had joined Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a police officer stated.
The body used to be despatched to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital right here for post-mortem exam, the SP stated.
