CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Monday deployed an army of functionaries for electioneering in bypolls to Sulur, Aravakkurichi, Thiruparankundram and Ottapidaram assembly constituencies. The bypoll will probably be held on May 19.
“Ministers, headquarter office-bearers, MPs, MLAs, former ministers, MLAs, MPs and district functionaries and office-bearers of birthday party wings, besides union, the town, the town panchayat and house secretaries will work for each segment allotted to them,” stated birthday party coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami in a statement issued after a high-level assembly right here on Monday.
Sulur gets office-bearers of 13 birthday party districts, while Aravakurichi 14, Thiruparankundram 17 and Ottapidaram 11.
Sulur will get to peer the functionaries of Coimbatore Urban, Rural, Tirupur Urban, Rural, the Nilgiris, Nagapattinam, Villupuram North, South, Tiruvallur East, West, Perambalur, South Chennai North and North Chennai North (West).
Karur, Namakkal, Salem Rural, Vellore East, Vellore West, Tiruvannamalai North, Salem Urban, Dharmapuri, Trichy Urban, Rural, Tiruvannamalai South, Erode Urban, Rural, South Chennai South functionaries are deployed in Aravakkurichi segment.
Thiruparankundrdam gets functionaries from Madurai Urban, Madurai Rural East, West, Theni, Dindigul, Kancheepuram East, Central, West, Krishnagiri East, West, Cuddalore East, West, Sivaganga, Thanjavur North, South, North Chennai South and North Chennai North (East).
Functionaries in Tuticorin North, South, Pudukottai, Virudhunagar, Tiruvarur, Tirunelveli Urban, Rural, Kanyakumari East, West, Ramanathapuram and Ariyalur are deployed in Ottapidaram seat.
