Students warned against blocking medical seats

HYDERABAD: Following complaints of blocking off of management quota post-graduate clinical seats, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and clinical counselling committee (MCC) has warned students and faculties of stern action.

As the admission process for clinical seats is underway, the Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) alleged that a number of meritorious students were blocking off management quota seats. Seat blocking off is a common observe annually amongst meritorious students, who opt for a seat during preliminary rounds of counselling and vacate it after securing higher seats in different faculties during the subsequent rounds.



In its illustration submitted to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), HRDA demanded constitution of a complaint redressal committee to curb blocking off of management quota clinical and dental seats. “Every segment of management quota counselling must be performed simplest after the reporting date of the corresponding convenor quota and after showing vacant seats in seat matrix,” read the illustration.
