CHANDIGARH: The Special Task Force (STF), probing the faux insurance claims of cancer deaths, on Tuesday, arrested the son of a cancer victim from Karnal in Haryana.
Sumit Kumar, son of Krishan Kumar, a resident of Ballah village of Assandh sub-division, has been arrested for accommodation a false FIR of accidental dying of his father in December 2018.
"He has confessed to the sequence of events as to how he contacted Pawan Kumar Bhoria and other accused. The same has been corroborated with the technical evidences collected by the STF so far. Now, we have also identified the medicos and investigating officers of the Gannaur police station of Sonipat where case had been registered," stated STF DSP Rahul Dev.
Expressing inability in sharing the details, the DSP also showed that most of the circumstances have been registered at Gannaur police station of Sonipat.
"Our teams are questioning him. As of now, he has confessed that he was told to inform Pawan about the death of his father. The rest was managed by Pawan and all," he stated.
In a similar construction of the case, a Sonipat court docket on Tuesday ordered three-day police remand for the 2 operators, including one among PGIMS and one of the most civil hospital, for allegedly destroying the records associated with cancer dying and developing document associated with inquest complaints.
Meanwhile, the STF has also started tightening the noose around 10 medicos and 12 police officers who've at once or not directly handled the autopsies of the cancer patients whose deaths used to be transformed into that of accidental dying.
