NAGPUR: The state govt’s public works division spent Rs 13.99 crore for putting in fibre pace breakers at 23 different roads across the city. The division revealed this ahead of the state knowledge commission, whilst replying to a RTI question filed via general secretary of Maharashtra Youth Congress Ajit Singh.
Singh is running from pillar to put up to get knowledge on fibre pace breakers being put in at many puts on city roads. He had filed RTI packages with NMC and PWD, looking for main points of value, provider businesses. “Until just lately, both the government businesses refused to supply any knowledge or tried to supply misleading knowledge,” he said.
Though NMC has no longer given any knowledge yet, PWD just lately submitted the details after Singh moved the state knowledge commission. PWD said they'd put in fibre pace breakers even after the top court docket had directed govt businesses to follow Indian Road Congress (IRC) norms whilst establishing pace bumps.
PWD ahead of the state knowledge commission admitted it had spent Rs 13.99 crore for putting in those pace breakers. The roads where it had put in fibre-based speedbreakers incorporated outdated railway feeder road (Pardi-Bagadganj road) and Military road, near BSNL Office (Palace Road), 5 different spots in Civil Lines, Sadar Bazar road, TV Tower sq., Police Lake road, Chhaoni Chowk and so forth.
Executive Engineer PWD J H Bhanuse admitted ahead of the state knowledge commission that no permission was once sought from the visitors police.
As in line with rule, nod of District Road Safety Committee headed via chairman and district collector is a should. PWD blatantly neglected the norms of Indian Road Congress-99 and spent taxpayers’ money to erect unauthorised pace breakers. After a up to date top court docket order, NMC got rid of fibre pace breakers, still there are lots of roads in the city where those can also be discovered. There also are no caution boards put in.
Now, Singh is planning to transport Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court towards the state PWD to get better money spent on erecting unauthorized pace breakers from officers accountable.
