CHANDIGARH: The police have filed a chargesheet against Jasjit Singh Bunny, the son of Punjab former cabinet minister Capt Kanwaljit Singh of SAD, in a sexual harassment case.
Bunny used to be accused of sexually harassing a woman on the reception of saloon and misbehaved with its proprietor. He used to be charged below Sections 354 A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) and 509 (phrase, gesture or act meant to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. The chargesheet used to be filed in the court of a main judicial Justice of the Peace. The accused who used to be provide in the court used to be granted bail after furnishing bonds of Rs 50,000
On November 11, 2018 the saloon proprietor had complained to police that Bunny had come to her saloon in a drunken state and asked for a head therapeutic massage on the reception. While having the conversation, he touched the girl on the reception, the complaint alleged. As he used to be allegedly drunk, he used to be asked to go away the premises. “He started hurling abuses and the usage of vulgar language. The saloon proprietor used to be known as and he abused her too. He threatened to slap her,” the complaint alleged.
A copy of the chargesheet could be handed over to the complainant on the next date of listening to following which fees could be framed against the accused after arguments. The topic would arise for listening to on July 10.
In November 2017, an area court had framed fees against Bunny for allegedly assaulting a retired Punjab Police authentic and a supporter of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The fees have been framed below Sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 325 (punishment for voluntarily inflicting grievous harm), 506 (punishment for legal intimidation) of the IPC. Prakash Chand, the complainant, had alleged he used to be assaulted through Bunny in Sector 9, Chandigarh. Chand had mentioned he had come to the Sector 9 place of abode of Bunny after attending a rally of AAP with Sarbajit Kaur, the mum of Bunny, in Punjab. While he used to be status out of doors the place of abode on his scooter, Bunny came to the spot and started assaulting him, he alleged. Bunny used to be arrested in the case however later he used to be released on bail.
