FTE workshop still not fully functional

Vadodara: For the previous two years, budding engineers of M S University are not getting correct practical exposure at Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) because of loss of correct workshop.
Sources said that the workshop by which the engineering scholars are meant to achieve practical knowledge isn't totally practical ever since Siemens set up a centre of excellence (CoE) on commercial automation at FTE.

The CoE which houses ultra-modern laboratories has been set up utilizing part of area of the workshop. While the centre has began functioning, the work to make the workshop totally practical has not been completed to this point.

All first year engineering scholars regardless of their move must get practical exposure on the workshop.


When requested FTE dean professor Arun Pratap admitted that the workshop isn't totally practical.


“It is operating however not at the scale that it used to function as part of the workshop was given to set up CoE. The final part of the workshop is being utilized to offer practical coaching to scholars who're divided in smaller batches,” he said.


He argued that some teachings which have been conventional finished only at workshop has additionally changed with time. “Earlier, engineering drawing was taught on the workshop however now there may be automated drawing,” he said, assuring that the workshop will soon get ready.
