HC: Form SIT to probe how former MP got secret report

Allahabad: The Allahabad prime courtdirected the state government to form a different investigation group (SIT) to research as to how former MP Dhananjay Singh obtained a duplicate of the legitimate confidential verbal exchange related to his security element.
The confidential verbal exchange dated November 14, 2018, addressed to DG (abhisoochna) through IG STF came to the notice of the court whilst listening to a writ petition filed through mafia don-turned-politician Singh, challenging withdrawal of Y Plus security cover supplied to him through the federal government.

Taking a serious observe of the leak of the verbal exchange, a department bench comprising Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery directed SIT to produce a report in a sealed cover through the next date of listening to on April 17.

Singh, a former BSP MP from Jaunpur, in his petition had asked the court to quash an order of the Union ministry of home affairs dated May 24, 2018, by which his security was once discontinued. He had also asked the court to direct the ministry to continue offering security cover to him.


Earlier at one degree, the court had asked the Central in addition to state government to supply norms/criteria followed through them for offering security cover to the folks.


Subsequently, on March 30, 2019, a duplicate of the confidential verbal exchange was once placed ahead of the court through the petitioner’s recommend all the way through the course of argument.


On Wednesday, the court took a serious view of the provision of the confidential verbal exchange to the petitioner and handed the above directives.
