IMFL worth Rs 22 lakh seized; two arrested

RAJKOT: A total of 6,000 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), worth Rs 22.38 lakh, have been seized from a truck and two bootleggers arrested from Fatehgadh village of Rapar taluka in Kutch district on Tuesday evening.

The accused have been identified as truck motive force Sureshchandra Salavi (31) and its cleaner Narendra Garg (26).


During interrogation, the accused mentioned that the IMFL cache used to be uploaded directly to the truck in Sachor of Rajasthan they usually have been prompt to call on attaining Adesar in Kutch. There, a automobile used to be intended to come to take the delivery of the liquor bottles.


“The IMFL bottles have been saved underneath a heap of fertilizers. We shall be generating the accused ahead of a court here to seek their remand to determine whether the liquor cache had been supplied for the citizens in the run-up to Lok Sabha elections,” mentioned J H Gadhvi, sub-inspector with Rapar police station.
