Intermediate exam results fiasco: Committee points out errors, suggests remedial measures

HYDERABAD: The three-member committee of technical experts, appointed by means of the Telangana executive following the furore over Intermediate exam effects, identified positive lapses and instructed more than a few measures for improvement, officials said Saturday.

In its file, submitted to the government on Saturday, the committee identified errors (in publication of effects) like not displaying sensible examination marks in the memos of positive geography scholars, training secretary B Janardhan Reddy informed newshounds.


"Because of bubbling error in some OMR sheets, correct marks were not awarded to very few students," he said.


The mistakes did not considerably affect the consequences, he said, mentioning the committee's observations.


The panel instructed measures like re-verifying the marks of a scholar who failed in the second year however had were given good marks in first year, Reddy added.


The committee was once appointed after the alleged bungling in effects ended in popular criticism from scholars, parents, scholars' organisations and political events.


Claiming that about 20 scholars have committed suicide reportedly after they either failed in examination or were given poor marks, a Congress-led opposition delegation demanded Governor ESL Narasimhan to order a judicial probe into the fiasco.
