BENGALURU: Multiple organisations on Saturday protested in opposition to the alleged homicide of a 21-year-old engineering pupil in Raichur reported on April 13.
The protesters, who gathered at Mysore Bank Circle, had been from 3 main organisations: The All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), All India Mahila Sanskritik Sanghathan (AIMSS) and All India Democratic Youth Organization (AIDYO).
Claiming that police apathy in the case was very apparent, Shobha S, state secretary of AIMSS, mentioned the agitation was no longer limited to Bengaluru but equivalent protests had been being held across Karnataka.
"Police started investigating the case seven days after the FIR was lodged, that too after protests by students," mentioned Shobha, claiming that law enforcement officials had to begin with threatened to book scholars for violating the "model code of conduct".
"They were told they could get expelled from college, but the students remained unfazed and continued to demand justice," she mentioned.
