Kundariya’s threat for votes to panchayat members goes viral

Rajkot: An audio clip, believed to be a dialog between union minister Mohan Kundariya, who is BJP candidate from Rajkot seat, and member of Rajkot District Panchayat, went viral on social media. The the minister is heard allegedly threatening the panchayat member to get a minimum of 75% votes from his village in favour of BJP.

On the audio clip Kundariya is heard asking one Nanubhai Dodia to persuade folks of his village to vote in his favour. “This time I want 70-75% vote from Kotharia. In every election you work in opposition to me. I have were given the village road built for you. If i do not get 75% votes this time you'll lose your cooperative society.”


To this alleged thread, Dodia is heard announcing, “Don’t threaten me. If you wish to have I can resign instantly. I am a Congress member of district panchayat. Mind your language and communicate properly. This is my village.”


After this audio clip went viral on social media, Congress candidate from Rajkot Lalit Kagathra issued a remark. “If Kundariya can threaten Congress contributors of district panchayat then consider the placement of BJP contributors? Is it democracy or dictatorship?”


Kundariya could no longer be contacted for feedback as he was once busy in election campaigning, in keeping with his shut aides.
