Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka: Repair work begins on crumbling booth

HUBBALLI: Kundgol taluk management has begun repair work at the crumbling development where it has set up a polling sales space at Hirehakuni village of Kundgol taluk.

People of Hireharkuni village taluk had expressed apprehensions as two years ago the zilla panchayat had ordered that the development housing the government higher number one faculty be demolished. So they were baffled when sales space no. 134 was once set up in the same development.




On Tuesday, the taluk management started repair work of 2 school rooms.


Basavaraj Kattimani, vice chairman, gram panchayat, lashed out at the taluk management for opting for the dilapidated development.


Officers mentioned that they are able to’t alternate the sales space because of technical reasons and promised to take precautionary measures to ensure the security of the voters.


Speaking to TOI, Kundgol tahsildar Shivanand Sagar mentioned, “We have hired staff to fix the roof and other parts of the room where the sales space has been set up and its adjoining room which, too, is in an excessively sorry state. We have fastened the home windows and doors and taken all imaginable measures to ensure the security of voters.”
