COIMBATORE: A 24-year-old van driving force was arrested on Tuesday for trying to molest a faculty lady, who is his relative, in Sulur.
The rural police identified the arrested as N Subash, of Peedampalli close to Sulur. A driving force with a private company in Ondipudur, an investigation officer mentioned Subash used to talk over with his kinfolk dwelling in a condo space in a neighbouring village.
“A few days in the past, he went there and the woman, a Class IX student, was home alone. Taking advantage of the placement, he tried to molest her. The lady cried for help and neighbours rushed to the spot. However, Subash controlled to escape,” the officer mentioned.
The lady narrated the incident to her mother and she or he lodged a criticism with the Sulur police, who registered a case against Subash beneath more than a few sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested him.
Subash was produced ahead of a judicial magistrate courtroom, which remanded him in judicial custody. He was therefore lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison.
