Missing Rs 6.65 crore: Not part of raiding team, claim 2 Punjab ASIs

PATIALA: Mohali further district and classes pass judgement on Monika Goyal on Tuesday allowed arguments over the bail utility moved through two absconding assistant sub-inspectors of the Punjab Police, who had reportedly disappeared with Rs 6.65 crores seized from the Jalandhar place of dwelling of Father Anthony Madaseery.

The courtroom has reserved its order for Wednesday.


The ASIs -- Joginder Singh and Rajpreet Singh - had moved the bail utility ultimate Friday, pronouncing there was no official file confirming their function in the team that raided the priest's space at Pratappura village in Jalandhar on March 29. Their counsel B S Bhullar stated the duo was in Patiala as they have been neither part of the raiding team nor had they been transferred to Khanna. He also challenged why the FIR was registered towards three persons best - the two ASI and police informer Surinder Singh - and no longer towards 30 unidentified policemen who, in line with the grievance filed through Father Anthony, had raided his place of dwelling on March 29. He argued that there was no CCTV pictures to be had to determine that the two ASIs have been a part of the raiding team.

Bhullar also contended that for the reason that two ASIs had presented themselves prior to the SIT constituted to analyze the allegations levelled through Father Anthony, they should be granted bail.


However, the prosecution argued that police investigators had credible inputs pointing to the involvement of the two ASIs and the truth that they'd now long past underground should be taken into consideration whilst pronouncing the order on their bail utility.


According to the FIR registered through Mohali police on the recommendation of the SIT, which is in accordance with the grievance filed through Father Anthony, a team of Khanna police had raided the Pratappura space, from the place they'd seized Rs 16.54 crores. While Khanna SSP Dhruv Dhahiya held a press convention, mentioning that Rs nine.66 crores of unaccounted money was seized from Father Anthony close to Doraha, the priest had given a grievance to the Jalandhar Police commissioner day after today, claiming that the police officers took away Rs 16.54 crores and had tendered Rs nine.65 crores best to the source of revenue tax government.


Following those allegations, a SIT was constituted which later beneficial registered of an FIR towards the two ASIs and Surinder Singh, who was therefore arrested.
