Mumbai man held for duping producer of Rs 20L

MUMBAI: Oshiwara police recently arrested a person for allegedly duping a producer of Rs20 lakh after promising to lend a hand him get approval for telecast rights for his 3 serials on a DD channel.

Victim Navman Mallik lodged a grievance towards Vishwanath Dixit after realizing he have been conned. Dixit was previous arrested in a cheating chase by way of the Juhu police.


Dixit's partner Kushalnath Dixit is sought after in the case. "The duo met the victim three years ago. They posed as filmmakers and convinced the victim they had good contacts in Doordarshan and they could get him telecast rights for his three serials. The victim paid them Rs20 lakh," said a police officer.


Mallik has said in his grievance he were given suspicious as the duo stored making excuses. "I checked with the DD office in New Delhi and realized the duo had not approached them with any such deal to telecast the three serials."


Based on the grievance, Dixit was stuck from his Jogeshwari place of dwelling. He has been booked for cheating and legal breach of consider.
