RAJKOT: Supporters of Reshma Patel and Vanthali BJP basic secretary Deepak Vadalia came to a war of words over a dispute of canvassing in Vanthali of Junagadh district on Friday. This led to a minor scuffle between the supporters of both sides, after which Patel admitted herself to Vanthali primary health centre ahead of filing an application of grievance in opposition to Vadalia and his supporters.
Patel is contesting the state assembly election from Manavadar in Junagadh district on a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) ticket and fighting the Lok Sabha elections from Porbandar as an independent candidate. Manavadar Lok Sabha constituency falls below Porbandar constituency.
Vadalia additionally filed a move grievance in opposition to Patel. “Both Patel and Vadalia accused every other of causing impediment in wearing out the election campaign,” stated Ok Ok Odedara, sub-inspector with Vanthali police station.
In her application, Patel accused Vadalia and his supporters of physically assaulting her. “We have registered the packages from both Patel and Vadalia and started the investigation,” added Odedara.
