Nominations for bypolls trickle in on first day

Coimbatore: Candidates have started submitting nomination for the Sulur byelection. Kathiresan from the Toddy Movement filed his nomination papers as an impartial candidate on Monday. DMK candidate Pongalur N Palanisamy will report his nomination tomorrow, birthday celebration supply mentioned.

Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) introduced Okay Sugumar, who used to be a former AIADMK MP, as its candidate. He used to be an MP from Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency throughout 2009-2014. He hails from Samathur close to Pollachi and is the rural district secretary of AMMK. “Somanur, which falls underneath Sulur assembly constituency, has many powerloom companies. I would take vital steps to set up a powerloom park there,” mentioned Sugumar. He will also rejuvenate the water our bodies in Sulur and renovate the federal government hospital, he mentioned.


Meanwhile, A Noor Mohamed, an impartial candidate, filed nomination papers dressed up as a clown. Mohamed, a resident of Sundarapuram, had contested in 31 elections.
