Thane: The Kalwa police busted an oil pilferage racket and arrested a 28-year-old motive force near Ambewadi house in Bhiwandi on Saturday. The motive force had stolen oil from a transport truck which he was once driving.
The accused has been identified as Samir Khan, a resident of Sewri.
The police mentioned that the driver was once running with a transportation company and was once assigned to transport the 16 tonne oil from BPCA company to a chemical and agriculture production company in Ratnagiri.
The police seized just about 500 kg of oil which was once pilfered from the 16 tonne of the stock. The accused used to collect the stock from a man who used to pay him Rs 6,000 for it. The law enforcement officials have introduced a manhunt to nab the opposite accused involved in the racket.
A case was once registered with the Kalwa police underneath Sections 420, 406 and 379 of the Indian Penal Code.
The police suspect that the accused would possibly have diluted another chemical or oil with the original stock to extend the quanitity.
