Naidu stated 21 political events have demanded verification of VVPATs of 50% of EVMs. Singhvi threatened a national campaign, saying the EC was no longer doing sufficient to deal with the problem.
“Questions have been raised after the primary segment of elections, we do not think the EC is paying ok consideration. If you press the button ahead of ‘X’ birthday party, vote is going to ‘Y’ birthday party. VVPAT displays the vote only for 3 seconds instead of seven seconds,” he claimed.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Loss of faith within the electoral procedure is raising a question mark at the country’s democratic construction.” He also accused the EC of no longer paying heed to the complaints of EVM manipulation.
