ALLAHABAD: Continuing with their raids to evict unlawful inmates from various hostels of Allahabad University and that of the trusts, the district police in conjunction with varsity officers raided five hostels, on Friday.
These come with, SRK, Shatabadi (boys) and G N Jha hostel of AU and KPUC and Hindu hostel of the trusts. Accompanied through quite a few PAC and RAF staff, the raiding celebration broke the locks of all the locked rooms and after conducting intensive search of the rooms, they took the possessions of the rooms.
Circle Officer (CO) Colonelganj Shrish Chandra said, “We have discovered round 70 empty tin boxes of paan masala from a hostel, kept safely in a polybag and we are suspicious that they might have been kept for being utilized in making crude bomb”.
“In all we now have seized 176 rooms after conducting raids at those 4 hostels and room quantity 72 of the KPUC hostel has been sealed through the police,” said chief proctor Prof Ram Sevak.
