Saree stuck in bike, new mom falls, dies

The pillion rider can't have the funds for to "just sit back" and not trouble about protection measures. A young mother, who was once getting back from a temple after in quest of blessings for her newborn daughter, fell off her husband's motorcycle on which she was once driving pillion. The loose finish of her saree reportedly were given entangled within the rear wheel of the moving motorcycle, resulted in her fall and subsequent demise.

According to case details, Sumitra Chandel (22) had given delivery to a woman 4 months ago. A resident of Shri Om Nagar, Vibhaag 4, in the back of PNT Colony in Vasna, she had been staying at her father's house in the same society because the kid's delivery. On Sunday morning, her husband Bhupendra Chandel (28) picked up her and their daughter on his motorcycle. The couple had determined to go to a temple in Lambha to seek blessings for the baby.According to a family pal, this was once possibly the primary time that Sumitra was once stepping out of her home with the infant for a non-medical explanation why.

On their way back at round nine.15 am, when the motorcycle was once moving from Lambha overbridge against Lambha Crossroads, the loose finish of Sumitra's saree were given entangled in its rear wheel. As the motorcycle moved on, she was once pulled off the motorcycle with the infant in her hand. While the kid escaped with only a scratch on the forehead, Sumitra sustained head damage. Bhupendra rushed her to LG Hospital in a rickshaw the place she was once declared useless by means of the hospital government.

'We simply began a family'

Barely able to speak, a shocked Bhupendra informed Mirror, "She was only 22. We had just begun our family and were celebrating the birth of our first child. I had just got her from my father-in-law's place in the morning to seek blessings from the deity for our child." His shirt was once blood stained and his whole sleeve had been soaked in blood. His father refused to say the rest, except, "Main kuch nahi bol paunga (I am in no position to speak)."


Suresh Nagora, a neighbour of Sumitra's father, said, "Bhupendra works as a salesman at a jewellery shop on CG Road. Apart from head injury Sumitra had abrasions on both hands while the baby girl escaped with a scratch on her forehead."

Case of unintended demise


Police at LG Hospital check put up registered a case of unintended demise. PSI S F Bhanderi said, "This is a case of accidental death. We have recorded the statement of the husband and registered a complaint."
