THANE: A major fireplace broke out at a chemical plant positioned in Dombivli MIDC in the district on Saturday morning, officers stated.
No lack of existence has been reported to this point and eight fireplace engines had been engaged in the job of dousing the flames, the officers stated.
"The blaze started around 6.55 am in the chemical plant situated behind the Manpada police station in Dombivli MIDC," Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam stated.
An officer from Manpada police station stated, "Eight fire engines have been deployed to bring the blaze under control. However, even at 10 am, it was still raging and the fire fighters were struggling to douse the flames."
Te explanation for the blaze was yet to be ascertained, fireplace brigade sources stated.
Thick black smoke from the hearth has engulfed the area surrounding the plant.
