CHENNAI: The Directorate of medical schooling, which is looking ahead to permission to start a brand new medical faculty in Karur and increase UG seats in Madurai and Tirunelveli executive medical colleges for the academic 12 months, is now making contemporary packages for expanding MBBS seats in Coimbatore and Kanyakumari executive medical colleges by 150 for 2020 educational 12 months.

For the following educational 12 months,we are planning to increase MBBS seats in Coimbatore to 250 and Kanyakumari to150,” he mentioned. At least 14 extra districts within the state need medical colleges and suggestions for converting district headquarters hospitals in Perambalur, Ooty and Kancheepuram are pending. At least two private establishments, together with Kovai Medical Centre, were given essentiality certificates by the federal government for starting medical colleges. Bharath University and St Peters crew of establishments had additionally applied for essentiality certificates.
