VADODARA: Residents of Sayaji Park Society on Ajwa Road awoke to loud cries early on Thursday morning when a married lady and her mom had been brutally murdered by a history-sheeter known as Priyakant Solanki alias Bhaylu. The police have launched hunt for Solanki who fled from the spot after committing the murders.
According to police, Solanki was in dating with 21-year-old Payal Palkar few years ago. But Payal got married to someone else named Mahendra Palkar in 2016. “Solanki, alternatively, remained obsessed with Payal and wanted to proceed his dating along with her. Mahendra advised us that Solanki used to pester his wife and requested her to stick with him,” said T G Bamaniya, Bapod police inspector.
“Though Payal wasn’t enthusiastic about continuing the connection, Solanki kept calling her and he or she thwarted his advances. This left Solanki fuming,” Bamaniya advised TOI.
Mahendra, who works in a storage, advised police that Solanki had advised his friend on Wednesday that he'll kill Payal. The friend immediately knowledgeable her and Payal called Mahendra to tell him about Solanki’s danger.
On Wednesday night, Palkar was taking his wife to the Karelibaug police station, reportedly to record a complainat against Solanki. On manner, he met his friend Harish Saraniya who requested him to accompany him for some paintings. Mahendra then requested Payal to go to her mom’s house Sayaji Park announcing he would get past due. Mahendra also lives in Sayaji Park on the subject of Payal’s house.
At about 3.30 am on Thursday, Mahendra got a decision from his brother-in-law who knowledgeable him that Solanki had killed Payal.
When Mahendra was dashing to Sayaji Park, he bumped into Solanki who requested him to move and spot the condition of his wife and spouse's mother and fled from the spot. On achieving Payal’s house, he saw her mendacity in a pool of blood. His spouse's mother, Jayshree, who was badly injured, too was mendacity subsequent to her.
The mother-daughter duo died sooner than they could get any treatment.
Police said that Solanki went to the terrace and primary attacked Jayshree with a heavy iron rod. Then he grew to become to Payal and slashed her throat with a sharp weapon sooner than injuring her each palms. Solanki then slashed Jayshree’s throat too. Payal’s two-year-old son was slumbering proper subsequent to her when she was murdered.
The police said some neighbours accrued and raised alarm and then Solanki fled from there.
Police said Solanki is a headstrong one that is accused in an attempt to murder case and sexually harassing a lady in 2016. He was also detained underneath Prevention of Anti-Social Act (PASA) previously.
