VADODARA: The special operations workforce (SOG) has nabbed a lady drug peddler sought after in two different cases registered underneath Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act within the town. Poonam Jatav alias Maami was nabbed from Farooqabad in Uttar Pradesh and delivered to town.
In January last year, the police had busted a drug selling racket on Atladara-Bil Road and arrested 3 persons for stocking and selling pentazocine injections. A case was registered towards them in Sayajigunj police station. The accused trio had told the police that they had purchased the medicine from a lady identified as Maami.
In March last year, the SOG sleuths had nabbed two persons with 1,000 pentazocine injections from town. The accused had revealed that they were given the injections from Maami and her husband. Since then, the police officers have been on lookout for Maami.
