Karan Johar's upcoming production 'Student Of The Year 2' has been stealing the limelight ever since its inception. The trailer of the movie, starring, Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria within the lead roles dropped ultimate week and the makers have now treated the enthusiasts with the first track of the film, which launched on Thursday.
Tiger, Tara, and Ananya recreate the magic of Kishore Kumar's hit classic 'Ye Jawaani Hai Diwani' from the 1972 movie 'Jawani Diwani' which was once picturised on Randhir Kapoor and Jaya Bachchan.
Karan Johar, who is producing the upcoming movie, teased the viewers with a brief video on his Twitter take care of, by which the lead cast will also be noticed saying the song's release date and grooving to the unique track.
In the clip, Tara says, "The most iconic song ever," to which Tiger provides, "My dad's favourite song and I got to dance to it," after which Ananya is heard announcing, "It is such a privilege for us to dance on this song."
Along with the clip, KJo wrote, "Bringing the "Gili Gili Akkha" back with the new students! Stay tuned, #TheJawaaniSong out tomorrow!! #SOTY2."
Interestingly, within the trailer of the movie, enthusiasts were given a glimpse of the upcoming song. The recreated model is sung through Vishal Dadlani and Payal Dev, with fresh lyrics penned through Anvita Dutt, while the unique lyrics have been written through Anand Bakshi.
The movie's prequel 'Student of the Year' additionally boasted of a modern rendition of Nazia Hassan's cult number 'Disco Deewane'.
'Student Of The Year 2' is the sequel to the 2012 hit movie 'Student Of The Year' which marked the Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra.
While KJo had directed the first movie, the second installment has been directed through filmmaker Punit Malhotra of 'I Hate Luv Stories' repute.
'Student Of The Year 2', which has been majorly shot in Dehradun, will hit the theatres on May 10, 2019.
