PUNE: Maharashtra Orthopaedic Association (MOA) will hold week lengthy actions to mark MOA day on May 1. The awareness actions can be organised between April 28 and May 5 and will spotlight the importance of pre-hospital trauma care and the position of bystanders at coincidence places.
Orthopaedic surgeon Parag Sancheti, quick past president of MOA, mentioned, “The care given within the golden hour following trauma gives a definitive route to the end result. Therefore excellent quality of pre-hospital trauma care is vital. Therefore, it is necessary that we lay all of the fears to relaxation and give a helping hand to other people in misery.”
"A change in perception will go a long way in improving the outcomes. A small prompt step by people can give a new lease of life to many. Also many people don’t know exactly what steps to take in case of accidents. Our activities and initiatives will educate people on do’s and don’ts in case of emergencies and accidents," Sancheti mentioned.
Orthopaedic surgeon Sanjog Kadam mentioned, "In case of unfortunate accidents many people still are apprehensive about giving a helping hand. But this perception of fear should be removed. The weeklong activities will focus on sensitizing and educating bystanders on importance of pre hospital trauma care. These would include educative programmes, workshops, street plays and videos."
