Afire broke out on the terrace of a four-storey building in Parimal Garden house of the town on Monday, but no casualties or accidents had been reported. Fire officers suspect gas leakage to be the reason for fire that engulfed the fibre-shed on the terrace of Dev Commercial Complex.

Apple Super-Specialty Children’s Hospital had built the shed on the terrace which housed its kitchenette, canteen named “flames” and waiting room for the workforce. Gas leakage within the kitchenette is suspected to have began the fireplace. Following the incident, 11 small children admitted within the neonatal care unit of the Apple sanatorium had been evacuated in conjunction with sufferers of two other hospitals and workforce of other companies within the building.
