AMC razes 49 illegal bldgs

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has been on a razing power for the past 5 days, demolishing unlawful buildings on terraces at premises around the town in mild of the Surat fire tragedy where 22 other folks, mostly students, lost their lives on Friday (May 24), seeking to escape a massive fire that had engulfed their coaching centre. The centre was once situated within the unlawful fiber dome constructed on the terrace of Takshashila Arcade.

At the end of 5 days, a total of 3,529 notices were issued to tuition classes, hospitals, restaurants and different industrial complexes to install and take care of fire protection methods, and get their Fire NOCs.

Illegal buildings at 5 other hospitals together with Apollo Hospital were demolished. The same motion was once taken at six tuition classes together with Allen Career Classes and 20 colleges together with Edunova in Maninagar, A-one School at Thaltej and Udgam School in Bhaipura.

AMC officers mentioned they freed terrace house totalling nine,400.75 square metre on Wednesday.
