This is the first record of a red-tailed tropic chicken from Bengal and 2d from India. Christmas Island within the Indian Ocean is a big breeding colony for those birds. The chicken spends most of its time on wings. The day it was rescued, it was exhausted, almost certainly after facing the cyclone. It was released into the wild at Jambu Dweep island near Bakkhali on Sunday.
