The Defence ministry on Saturday rejected Vice Admiral Bimal Verma's petition challenging the appointment of Vice Admiral Karambir Singh as the following Navy leader, overlooking his seniority. In its order, defence ministry said the appointment was once made taking into consideration all laid down norms, saying that seniority cannot be the one criteria for the choice.
