NEW DELHI: The Indian govt sees little hope of a bidder rising for debt-laden Jet Airways Ltd, which halted operations closing month, two senior finance ministry officials said.
Parties that had initially expressed hobby in Jet, which is saddled with more or less $1.2 billion of debt, have up to now failed to come forward with firm bids to bail it out, increasing odds that it will quickly face chapter proceedings.
“There is little scope within the revival of Jet,” said one professional, adding that if a bidder emerged, the federal government was once nonetheless willing to revive slots to the private airline that have been briefly given to competitors.
The second professional said it was once only a topic of time sooner than any person dragged the carrier to the National Company Law Tribunal - India’s chapter court docket - for recovery of dues.
