Sources stated the city affairs ministry has prepared the plan and finalised the criteria and specifications for Metrolite and has despatched them to the railway ministry. Speaking at a convention on highway protection at IIT-Delhi, city affairs secretary D S Mishra stated the price of Metrolite corridors could be 40% less than typical Metro rail lines, which will make them financially viable.
