DEN BOSCH (The Netherlands): The Olympic quota already booked, the Indian's males's recurve crew reached the final of the World Archery Championships for the primary time since 2005 after it shocked a powerful Netherlands on Thursday.
The Indian crew can be in the hunt for its maiden title as it faces China within the summit clash on Sunday. China ousted best seed Korea 6-2 within the other semifinal Thursday.
A day after securing the 2020 Tokyo Olympics three-man quota via making the quarterfinals, the India trio of Tarundeep Rai, Atanu Das and Pravin Jadhav held their nerves to come back from behind and win 29-28 within the shoot-off for an overall ranking of 5-Four.
This is the second time ever when the men's recurve crew reached the World Championships ultimate. At Madrid 2005, the Indian crew comprising Rai, Jayanta Talukdar and Gautam Singh had lost to Korea 232-244 within the summit clash.
India also remained within the medal contention within the ladies's compound crew match as it faces Turkey within the bronze medal playoff on Saturday.
Having thrashed Chinese Taipei 6-Zero within the quarter, the Indian males's recurve crew discovered a powerful problem from the second seeded home crew led via international quantity two Steve Wijler, a bronze medallist two years ago in Mexico City.
The other two avid gamers of Netherlands have been 2016 Rio Olympics semifinalist Sjef van den Berg and London 2012 semifinalist Rick.
The Indians two times trailed within the fit however spearheaded via Rai, who was once a member of the silver profitable crew on the Madrid World Championship 14 years ago, the trio showed persona to bounce again each and every time and compelled the fit to the shoot-off.

"He's our great motivation now. It's a great moment for us," Das said after the fit, giving credit to senior teammate Rai.
"Last few years, I was struggling in all the three events -- individual, mixed pair and team events. I was up to the mark but not able to put up any medal-winning show. I tried harder and harder and finally it happened."
Asked about the summit clash against China, Das said, "We will give our best show. We are really proud."
The Netherlands grabbed a 2-Zero lead with two best 10s, including one X (closest to centre), to win the primary set 56-54.
But the house crew had a poor opening in the second set with ratings of 6, 8 and 8 because the Indians seized the momentum to win 52-49 and bring the fit on an even keel (2-2).
Not able to give up easily, the Netherlands' trio had a close to flawless 3rd set with one 10 and two Xs to take hold of a Four-2 lead before profitable via one level (57-56).
The Indians then produced their best show of the fit with four best 10s including two Xs to degree the fit Four-all for a thrilling shoot-off end.
