Shortly after the Delhi Chief Minister’s decision to supplyfree delivery to girls, a Shiv Sena corporator from Pune has also demanded that the town follows suit of the national capital.
Prithviraj Sutar has demanded that public delivery should be made free now not just for ladies but also for senior citizens and students. On Monday, Delhi Chief MinisterArvind Kejriwal announced that delivery for women in Metro and buses will likely be free, claiming that the move is to verify ladies’s protection. While a clearance for the move remains to be awaited from the Central govt, it is most likely that its implementation will begin simplest after three months. Not looking forward to the dust to settle round the issue, Sutar instantly wrote a letter to the PMC hard that public delivery be made free in Pune as smartly.
Talking to Mirror about his proposal, Sutar mentioned, “People use private vehicles simplest because they aren’t getting environment friendly public delivery facilities. If they get it, they are going to generally tend to make use of it which will help decreasing pollution. I feel that if the PMPML will get a bit financial help they are going to be capable of enforce this. I've urged that thebelongings tax should be greater through one or two in keeping with cent and those price range should be released to the town’s delivery body.”
Receiving the demand definitely, PMPML said that it is thinking about the demand and can enforce it if PMC helps it. Siddharth Shirole, director of PMPML, mentioned, “We already supply free delivery to feminine passengers once a month. Now, we're taking into account making it free permanently. But since we're already working in a loss, we want the civic body to take financial duty. We are trying to get a budget allocation and if done, the everlasting free provider may also be applied.”
