An afternoon after IdealNews reported that at least 100 residents of Ichipatti village close to Palladam in Tirupur district had been made to pay panchayat personnel Rs 2,000 each to facilitate the subsidy underneath the Swachh Bharath Abhiyan for person bogs, a workforce of block-level officers led via block development officer S Balamurugan inspected their homes and held an inquiry with them on Tuesday. The residents were waiting for the subsidy for the past three years.
