WASHINGTON: An American employment service company has agreed to pay $1.1 million in again wages to almost 600 H-1B workers, a large number of whom are highly-skilled Indian IT pros.
This follows an investigation by the dept of labour's wage and hour department which discovered that Populus Group didn't pay H-1B workers required wages when work sites were close down for vacations.
In addition to paying the again wages, Populus Group — based totally in Troy, Michigan — will overview past and current payroll information to verify compliance with programme requirements.
In all, 594 H-1B workers will receive their again wages, an official statement said.
