Bhiwadi beats Kolkata, Agra; was most polluted city on Diwali day

Alwar: Rajasthan's Bhiwadi, which is notorious for its smoke-emitting industries, has now has got the doubtful distinction of being essentially the most polluted town in the nation.

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued a file on Diwali mentioning ambient air quality which has printed air pollution level in numerous towns of the rustic.

Bhiwadi positioned in Alwar, which falls in Delhi-NCR, used to be rated as essentially the most polluted town. Kolkata occupies the second spot, while Agra is the 3rd maximum polluted town of the rustic.

In 2016, Agra used to be essentially the most polluted town. The increasing air air pollution in Bhiwadi is attributed to industries emitting damaging smoke. On Diwali, the placement worsened.

On October 19, CPCB had issued a file on Air Quality Index (AQI), which displays that the level of air pollution in Bhiwadi used to be 425 micrograms per cubic metre. Kolkata has 358 micrograms per cubic metre while Agra recorded 332 micrograms per cubic metre of air air pollution.

It is to be noted that forward of Diwali even Supreme Court had expressed its worry on increasing ranges of air pollution in Delhi and imposed a ban on sale of crackers.

Despite all the measures, Bhiwadi used to be adjudged as town with the absolute best air pollution.

In the previous too, concerned over the increasing ranges of air pollution in Bhiwadi, the National Green Tribunal had closed down factories inflicting air pollution. But, alarmingly, even now the air pollution ranges are rising.


Now, the impact of air pollution is clearly evident on the well being of the folk. On Diwali, specialists in breathing sicknesses and pulmonologists witnessed an increase in the collection of sufferers coming for treatment.


Doctors claimed that due to rise in air pollution ranges on Diwali in Bhiwadi, more sufferers with breathing issues are coming for treatment.


In such a scenario, other people susceptible to breathing sicknesses will have to take precautions like dressed in masks. Winters will be harsher for such sufferers in Bhiwadi as fog will not permit air pollution to subside.
