ALLAHABAD: Setting a novel instance of celebrating Eco -friendly Diwali, a group of 50 children in Bojhi village of Pratapgarh district on Thursday celebrated Diwali with lighting the lamps (diyas) round timber.
The children hailing from rural background also took oath to protect tress and unfold the message of atmosphere protection within the society.
Under the theme of "Diwali with trees - Happiness in the environment" being organised by Paryavaran sena - an organisation creating consciousness on atmosphere protection, a group of 50 children at the side of their oldsters and guardians assembled at Bojhi village who took the oath of atmosphere protection and safety of nature.
The children later lit the diyas around the timber and carried out arti.
The children also appealed folks to take care of cleanliness within the village in addition to planting more and more tress as they can.
Head of Paryavaran Sena, Ajay Krantikari mentioned, " If we are able to change the tradition of celebrating festivals, we would be able to protect our environment". He further added " children are well aware about the level of pollution that rises due to bursting of crackers".
Twelve years previous Dipika mentioned, "Crackers not only create air pollution but also cause noise pollution to a major extent". She also added " crackers leave an adverse impact on human health and it should be a collective efforts to protect our environment".
Class VIII pupil, Radha Rani says " If we are not able to protect our environment, we would have to face consequences". She added " children of Bojhi village have appealed to people of other villages to celebrate Eco friendly Diwali". Social activist Ravi Prakash Mishra mentioned " The rising level of pollution has left its impact on human lives and all should come forward to protect our environment". He also added " every individual should take steps to minimize the factors that are responsible for increasing pollution levels".
