Cows to walk the ramp at Haryana cattle fair

Indigenous breeds of cows akin to Murra will stroll the ramp at a good looks event scheduled to be held right through the three-day Haryana Swarna Jayanti Cattle Fair in Jhajjar starting from October 27.

A different contest might be organised on the second one day of the fair in which cows and bulls, decked up in all traditional paraphernalia, will strut ahead of the crowd.

The executive and the district management expect a footfall of just about 5,000 farmers and about 2,500 cattle right through the development at the Police Lines in the city.

Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki will inaugurate the development on Friday. Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar could also be anticipated to visit the cattle fair on October 29.


The executive has set aside Rs nine crore as prize money to be given to the owners of best cattle.


Animal husbandry and dairy minister OP Dhankar stated that the fair might be organised holding in view the four aspects of dairy trade: breed, era, temperature and fodder.


Last week, the Haryana executive had announced a brand new thought to facilitate the ones people who are living in high rises in city areas but also want to rear cattle to produce milk. Under this bold project about 50 to 100 acres of land would be earmarked in major cities in Haryana for cows and buffaloes.
