AHMEDABAD: With temperatures not ceasing to go down, cases of vector-borne infections, especially the ones of dengue and chikungunya have larger within the town prior to now month and a part. According to the weekly health document by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC) health department, 69 cases of dengue and chikungunya had been reported in AMC-run hospitals and concrete health centres in addition to a couple of personal hospitals around the town within the first two weeks of October.
"Cases of dengue and chikungunya usually increase after monsoon. Of late, the daytime temperatures have been high making it a conducive season for mosquito breeding. We're noticing an increase in cases in west zone and new west zone and therefore, have intensified fogging and indoor residual spraying activities," stated Bhavin Solanki, medical officer of health, AMC.
Apart from those, some 425 cases of malaria and 128 cases of falciparum malaria had been also reported in Ahmedabad all over the same period.

AMC's health department on Monday showed the death of Amrish Rajput (43), who succumbed to swine flu. Rajput used to be a resident of Asarwa and suffered critical breathlessness, cough, chilly and fever. He were admitted to a private health center on August 26 and were kept on ventilator give a boost to for someday. He succumbed on Friday.
