GUWAHATI: After the successful opening edition of the Sunday walking zone this week, the Kamrup (Metro) district management is now focussing on making guests' revel in even higher.
Kamrup (Metro) deputy commissioner M Angamuthu mentioned the management has been assessing field-level inputs and comments received from government businesses, the general public and different stakeholders to stay bettering the event. "There were some issues but most people liked the idea. That is encouraging. But we will try our best to address these issues and make it even better next time," Angamuthu added.
According to the district management, about 50,000 folks turned up on the walking zone, a stretch of the Mahatma Gandhi Road from Sukreswar Temple to Bharalumukh Footbridge, this Sunday.

"We are also discussing with the Guwahati Municipal Corporation the possibility of installing more toilets and other facilities for women and children," the DC mentioned. Another downside the management hopes to address is that of parking. Traffic congestions on different routes in the city have been additionally a problem this time.
